We're proud to collaborate with renowned artist Mark Rowan-Hull on a unique bat label design that brings together the worlds of cricket and contemporary art. Known for his distinctive style and bold creative vision, Mark has worked closely with our design team to create an exclusive label that reflects both the heritage of Millichamp & Hall and the individuality of the modern cricketer. The result is 'Gesture' - a striking fusion of craftsmanship and creativity, transforming the bat into more than just a piece of equipment – it becomes a statement of personality, passion and performance.
Inspired by the Game We Love
Gesture, is a new and exciting design, reworking the sport’s most familiar and quintessentially English design from following its shape up. Rather than treating the bat design as a surface to decorate, Rowan Hull began with its shape softening the traditional angular profile into something more curved and feminine reflecting the changing game. Across the blade, a kingfisher blue breaks through with a luminosity that feels like light caught mid motion, echoing the same live and gestural mark making at the heart of Rowan Hull’s synaesthetic (Hearing colour) live performance painting. The result is a luminous design that carries its concept in its form and its finish alike: a considered departure from convention.
