It has been a fantastic winter for one of our newest M&H family members, Yorkshire’s Jordan Thompson, who has been representing the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League (BBL) down in Australia. We caught up with Jordan to speak of his experience playing for the Hurricanes.
“It has been a great experience playing in such a big tournament, especially with and against such big names in all the teams. To play with Matthew Wade, Ben McDermott, and D’Arcy Short at the Hurricanes has given me lots of learning opportunities,” Thompson said.
“I have not performed as well as I would have liked but it can take a little bit of time to get used to new conditions and a new tournament, I certainly feel this experience will enable me to do better in future franchise tournaments.”
Jordan is using the PS100 range, matching up rather nicely with the purple of the Hobart shirt. “My M&H kit has been great, when I have hit them, I have cleared the boundary effortlessly.”
“The bats are perfect for me in both shape and weight, so hopefully they will produce the runs during the 2022 county season which I am very much looking forward to.”
There is no time for Jordan to return to the UK, he heads straight to the Pakistan Super League (PSL). “I am heading straight to play for the Karachi Kings which is going to be another great learning opportunity with big names and a highly regarded T20 tournament. Hopefully, I can make a good account of myself and prepare well for the English season."
