Purple patch for Guest

Former Australian U19 and current Derbyshire wicketkeeper batter Brooke Guest has had a flying start to his 2022 campaign, scoring three centuries along with two fifties. Two of his hundreds came back to back against Glamorgan at the County Cricket Ground in Derby.

Guest who holds both an Australian and British passport talked about his recent form and Derbyshire’s start to their 2022 season.

“After a frustrating couple of games where I got a couple of starts, it was nice to get two big scores back-to-back against Glamorgan batting at three,” Guest said.

“This is the first time batting at three I have scored a hundred, so it was good for myself to see the hard work that I put in over the winter pay off. “

Guest isn’t just a one format player; he enjoys all formats of cricket from four days to one day. Guest spoke about his excitement for the upcoming Vitality T20 blast

“The Blast is always an exciting part of the season, especially as this year full crowds will be in."

“With full stadiums, the energy will be electric, hopefully as a team we feed off this and push for a final's day spot.

Derbyshire are unbeaten after five games, and a couple of wins in the next few could lead to them finding their way to the top of the table.

“As a batting unit, we have had a great start, with four players scoring centuries and players averaging above the fifties, along with our bowlers doing a great job. We have been building something special.”

Derbyshire are back in action on Thursday the 19th of May as they take on Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
