Thriving for England

Thriving for England

Here at Millichamp and Hall we have been thrilled to see three of our #mandhfamily members showing their skill at the highest level. We have to begin with the unbelievable efforts of long time family member, Jack Leach.

His bowling heroics captured the eye amongst a strong England attack. In England’s first test match in Pakistan for 17 years, they pulled one off the most dramatic wins in England cricket history, winning by 74 runs. As the sun began to drop and the light faded, Jack had Naseem Shah trapped LBW with one of the final balls of the day. Yet again, Jack was the man to take England home. He finished with 3 vitally important wickets.

We spoke to Jack after the victory: “It was a great team performance and a well-earned win in tough conditions. This performance really shows the quality and depth of the squad we’ve got and highlights the effectiveness of Bazball!”

The England Women’s team has been equally as impressive! Dominating the West Indies in their latest ODI match in Antigua, winning by a massive 142 runs. Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean took centre stage in the fixture with their bowling skills. With a below-par score set by England’s batters, Lauren and Charlie ripped through the West Indians to seal the victory.

Lauren has burst onto the international scene with a series of impressive performances. The 21-year-old only made her debut during the summer, but is now a regular fixture in this strong England side. Against the West Indies she took her best ever international figures, ending with an outstanding 4 for 33. Her combination of pace, bounce and swing had the West Indians beaten all ends up. Charlie Dean also showed the West Indian’s what she’s made of, finishing with a notable 2 for 9 on a wicket that offered little for the spinners.

We can’t wait to watch Jack, Charlie and Lauren take to the field again this week.
