Millichamp and Hall is a brand steeped in tradition, with one of those being a proud Australian heritage. We have been providing the finest cricket equipment in Australia for over 30 years, with the first ever Millichamp and Hall branded cricket bat being sold in November 1987 in Perth, WA.
During the 1990s, Millichamp and Hall was ever present in the Australian game, being used by State icons from Mike Valetta, Tim Zoehrer, Tom ‘Long Tom’ Moody and Geoff ‘Swampy’ Marsh, to national players like David ‘Babs’ Boon, Dean Jones, Steve ‘Tugga’ Waugh.
By 1994, the to and fro from Australia was wearing thin for both Julian Millichamp and Jonathan Hall. A deal was agreed with Puma, headed at the time by Australian sporting legend, Herb Elliott. Why Puma? They’d just sponsored a promising young player called Shane Warne, and they didn’t want him using Kookaburra bats. As part of the agreement, Julian stayed in Perth, branding then changed from M&H, to M&H Puma, to Puma by Millichamp, to Puma.
The Puma blades were wielded in some legendary moments of Australian cricket from Mark Taylors epic 334* in Pakistan, to the white ball genius of Michael Bevan winning matches from impossible situations, and of course not forgetting, Adam Gilchrist, the man that revolutionised the wicket keeper/batsmen position. The M&H Puma has recently been voted 3rd best ever Australian bat.
